The Association of Greek Art Historians organized a discussion of the work by Valias Semertzidis on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Amphitheater of the Benaki Museum, 138 Pireos Street, Athens, Greece.
The discussion was organized in the context of the exhibition Valias Semertzidis 1911-1983, Retrospectiva, which run from September 20, 2012 to November 11, 2012 at the Benaki Museum, 138 Pireos St.
Valias Semertzidis, still today, constitutes a case of an understudied Greek artist. The exhibition aimed to address this gap by bringing together familiar with unknown aspects of the artist’s oeuvre.
The meeting focused on the critical, historical and research issues that emerged in relation to the major retrospective of Semertzidis’ work.
